The National Cheng Kung University(NCKU) 2026 Mixed Relay Race entered its third day of preliminary heats on May 20. Executive Vice President Chen Yuh-Neu attended the event to encourage participating faculty and students, opening her remarks with the legendary story of Olympian Eric Moussambani.
The excitement continued to build on May 19 as National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) hosted the second day of time trials for its 2026 Mixed Relay Race. Thirty-two teams joined the second-day preliminary rounds. While athletes pushed their limits to secure a spot in the finals, many also looked to eclipse the benchmark times set during the opening day on May 18, fostering a spirit of self-improvement and cross-disciplinary teamwork.
Following its critically acclaimed debut last year, National Cheng Kung University’s "Mixed Relay Race" has returned with unprecedented momentum, setting a new record for event scale. This year's competition has drawn a massive turnout, with 103 teams and over 2,000 faculty members and students hitting the track. The five-day preliminary rounds kicked off on May 18 at the NCKU Kuang-Fu Campus sports field, where teams will battle for a spot in the top 24 to advance to the finals on June 8.

The 3U CubeSat Mission led by National Cheng Kung University’s (NCKU) Han Ming Hsia Space Science & Technology Center, held a live launch broadcast event on the afternoon of May 3. The "Gemini─Pollux" CubeSat Mission entirely designed, developed, and integrated by NCKU faculty and students—from structural design, power system, communication system, to attitude control and software—was successfully launched by the SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, USA. It has now been placed in a low Earth orbit at approximately 590 km altitude, showcasing Taiwan’s achievements in space talent cultivation and domestic industry collaboration.
