MSA NCKU Hosts Joyous Eid al-Fitr Celebration, Strengthening Community Bonds

The Muslim Student Association (MSA) at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) successfully hosted a vibrant Eid al-Fitr celebration on March 31, 2025, bringing together students, faculty, and local community members for a joyous occasion. Supported by NCKU Vice President for International Affairs, Chair Professor Sun-Yuan Hsieh, the Office of International Affairs (OIA), the Association of Taiwan People’s Social Welfare, and the Tainan Labor Department, the event emphasized inclusivity, cultural appreciation, and unity.

The celebration began with a communal Eid al-Fitr prayer, where Muslim men and women gathered in harmony, setting a spiritual tone for the day. This was followed by a festive feast featuring an array of international delicacies and engaging activities that highlighted the cultural and religious significance of Eid al-Fitr. The prayer not only marked the end of Ramadan but also reinforced a sense of togetherness and devotion among attendees.

A standout feature of the event was a panel discussion in which students shared their personal experiences of celebrating Eid away from home. Many expressed heartfelt gratitude for the supportive and welcoming environment at NCKU, which helped them feel connected to their faith and traditions despite being far from their families.
MSA President Fadl Sadiq Darwis briefly introduced and shared the significance of Eid al-Fitr, highlighting the joy of completing 30 days of fasting.
The Eid al-Fitr celebration serves as a testament to NCKU’s ongoing commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive campus. With continued support from university leadership and local organizations, the MSA NCKU looks forward to hosting more events that promote unity, mutual understanding, and cultural appreciation, further strengthening ties within Taiwan's multicultural community.
