In a remarkable achievement, Dr. Nguyen Thi Nghi Nhan, currently a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Materials Science and Engineering Department of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), has been honored with the distinguished "Best Ph.D Thesis Award." The recognition was conferred upon her for her outstanding doctoral work presented at the International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association Conference held in Spain on September 10-13. Dr. Nguyen's groundbreaking research, conducted under the guidance of her advisor, Prof. Kao Shuo Chang, has significantly contributed to the field of materials science.
 
The awarded thesis, titled "Hydrothermal-based Synthesis of p-BiFeO3 and n-ZnO and Their Composite Films for Various Applications," explores innovative methods for the synthesis of materials with diverse applications. Dr. Nguyen's research focuses on the hydrothermal synthesis of p-BiFeO3 and n-ZnO, coupled with the development of composite films, highlights their potential applications in various technological domains, including piezo-photodegradation, piezo-photoelectrochemical water splitting, and nanogenerator technologies. Research contributions are reflected in several publications, including papers in prestigious journals such as the Journal of Environmental Chemical Engineering and Renewable Energy.
