Prof. Wei-Chien Ma thinks humans have been inseparable from plants since ancient times. It is the latest trend in western countries to combine gardening with art therapy. Through drama, performance, and aesthetic courses, Ma brings plants and art into students’ daily lives. By taking care of and observing the plants, students can build emotional connections to the plants. The process not only reduces stress but heals the mind, body and soul. What’s more, it inspires students to think about the sustainable use of plants and the economic efficiency it might bring. Ma hopes through the promotion of art, culture and creativity, we can find new opportunities for agriculture and gardening, bringing new inspirations to others.
