Huey-Jen Jenny Su, President of NCKU, expressed that by developing professionally qualified and socially responsible business leaders, the APMC and the College of Management help push the frontiers in the theory and practice of business management. She expects the discussions will herald a rich output of ideas and findings in this conference, and trusts that this will be a rewarding conference for its attendees.

Yeu-Shiang Huang, Dean of the College of Management, expressed that it is a pleasure for the college to hold the APMC this year, as the College of Management celebrates the 65th anniversary. He expects that the APMC will continue to promote ideas that encourage scholars to share experiences and knowledge for the growth and sustainability of business and universities in the Asia-Pacific region.

In this year's conference, the College of Management arranged a special session "Beyond the Game" to discuss issues related to management in terms of large sports events. Taking the postponement of the 2020 Tokyo Olympics for example, the participants reflected on the effects that sports events bring to the transportation, economics, and nation. Dr. Monica Chien, from the University of Queensland, shared her insights on how the Tokyo Olympics affected Japan as a whole. Dr. Sarah Kelly, also from the University of Queensland, introduced management regulations in international sports events. Lastly, Dr. Jeorg Koenigstorfer, from the Technical University of Munich, shed light on his research on how to protect human rights during sports events.
