Southern Taiwan-based National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) held annual student club expo on September 18th and 19th with a total of 128 student clubs and organizations jointly displaying the overall diversity found at NCKU and enriching the social, cultural and educational experiences of NCKU students.

The expo packed with information sessions and activities designed to get students acquainted with NCKU student clubs and organizations.

NCKU Dean of Student Affairs Chii-Jeng Lin urged the new students to get involved in the students organizations on campus and befriend with students of common interests helping each other grow and thrive during the academic years in NCKU.

In the two-day expo, students were able to mingle and interact with as many or as few groups as they wanted to know about on-campus activities when the seniors of the students clubs were trying their best to draw the attentions from the potential members.

There are some clubs that are more aggressive than others in terms of recruitment and some clubs are just there, waiting for students to drift into their space before handing out flyers or information sheets.

“Joining a student organization is essential for college,” said Lin, and the expo can help the freshmen to choose an organization that is suitable for themselves because in the expo, the general introduction and mission statement of each club will be represented by the seniors.

Besides the booths set up by the student clubs, shows packed with fascinating performance staged by student clubs like rock music club, dance club, scout club and skating club have draw the crowd and made the nights at NCKU so lively and enchanting.

NCKU’s student clubs and organizations are diversified and can be classified into 6 groups – recreational, integrated, artistic, physical, social, and interpersonal – which are beneficial for the students to learn extracurricular skills and know-how to form a more well-rounded schooling in the university.
