NCKU's UDA camp passed down the torch to new leaders

A total of 88 leaders of student associations of the National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) participated in a summer camp held by NCKU United Departmental Association (UDA) from July 22-25 where senior students passed down their knowledge and experiences to the newly-elected student leaders.
Different from other camps held at NCKU this summer, the themed camp of UDA followed the film, The Avengers, served as the espionage agency, S.H.I.E.L.D, which made the participants of the camp superhero-to-be expecting to be well-trained and able to handle difficult situations with grace.
Passing down the knowledge and experience is highly regarded in the camp, according to Chii-Jeng Lin, dean of student affairs, adding that what the students learned in the camp is expected to help them to tackle the upcoming association affairs.
Lin encouraged the leaders to take on the responsibility and train themselves to be
prepared in tackling any possible problems in leading a successful student association
such as how to organize an activity and how to negotiate with others.
The camp involved the participants with group discussions, role plays, team works
and feedback were required to wrap up each activities.
The graduates who were experienced leaders in student associations were invited to the camp sharing their stories with the members and pass useful skills and know-how down to the new generation.
The camp aimed at passing down the torch, learning the managerial skills and expanding the social network, said Bryan Chen, convener of the camp and student of Business Administration.
The camp offered the leader-to-be a chance to break through the existing mindset and introduce new ideas, said Meng-Han Lin, student of Chemical Engineering, who participant the camp to learn how to manage the affairs of association.
