Evergreen Group Chairman Y. F. Chang receives Honorary Doctorate from NCKU

Dr. Chang Yung-Fa, Group Chairman of the Evergreen Group, received an Honorary Doctorate degree in Engineering from National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, at Chang Yung-Fa Foundation on June 19th.
The Honorary Degree in Engineering was conferred on Dr. Chang in recognition of his contributions and innovations in international transportation and his dedication to engineering education.
Upon receiving the degree from Hwung-Hweng Hwung, president of National Cheng Kung University, Dr. Chang Yung-Fa expressed his appreciation and praised the university’s efforts at advocating engineering.
This is the first Honorary Doctorate degree in Engineering Dr. Chang received and previously he was awarded seven Honorary Doctorates from internationally renowned Universities.
NCKU has given Honorary Doctorate degrees to many internationally renowned scholars and masters, including the 1986 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Yuan-Tseh Lee, the 2004 Nobel Laureate in Chemistry Aaron Ciechanover, the member of the USA National Academy of Sciences Britton Chance, and the Notable Mathematician Shing-Tung Yau, one of the 1982 winners of the Fields Medal that is often described as the "Nobel Prize of Mathematics".
