NCKU Affiliated High School senior won 1st place at diabolo competition

Chi-MingWu, an Affiliated Senior High School student of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, has won first place in Chinese yo-yo (diabolo) competition at 2012 Health Cup held by Chinese Taipei Acrobats Association.
Wu said that his passion for the art of diabolo has grown since he was in the 5th grade when his older brother who is also a professional player of diabolo introduced him the joy of joggling with diabolos.
When asking how to exceed competitors from the world, Wu responds that practice makes perfect and experience gained from the competitions helps him to be a better player with miscellaneous tricks.
Wu has participated in numerous competitions in Taiwan and received over 30 awards so far, expecting to prove himself by entering international competitions in the coming future.
Nan-Tsai Chang Jian, Wu’s teacher and also an amateur player of diabolo, is impressed by Wu’s talent and noted that when Wu is performing on the stage, the charisma, especially the smile and the eye contact has never failed to draw the audiences’ attention.
