NCKU aviation workshop helps students realize the dream to fly
Tainan, Taiwan, 1 Feb. 2012
An 8-day workshop starting 30 Jan., organized by Professor Lin Chin-E of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) in southern Taiwan equips interested university students with knowledge and skills to be flight attendants.
25 participants mostly from central and southern Taiwan, carrying luggage in class at Day 1 were eager to learn the basics of aviation for 8 consecutive days.
According to a junior of Chaoyang University of Technology in central Taiwan who aspires to be a flight attendant, attending the workshop is a great opportunity to get herself equipped with knowledge and skills needed for the in-flight duty.
Prof Lin whose areas of expertise are Control System, Avionics System, Mobile Communication, and CNS/ATM leads the main courses such as Aviation System, operational procedure and Civil Aviation Regulations.
3 guest speakers drill participants in verbal communications, etiquette and interpersonal skills to cultivate a positive and customer-oriented attitude.
“It is expected in 2012 more than 1,000 job opportunities will be open when the Dragonair and China Airlines are ready to recruit more cabin crew to meet the manpower needs,” said Prof Lin. “Half of 25 participants at the workshop will get the positions,” Lin added confidently.
The workshop is an intensive program designed for anyone who interested in civil aviation industry, scheduled for Jan. 30 to Feb. 6, from 8:10 am to 5:00 pm at Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering, NCKU. enditem/
