Executive Director Ho-Chung Fu of Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC), Taiwan, and President Masashi Kamon of Kagawa National College of Technology (Kagawa Kosen), Japan, recently visited the newly-elect President Hwung-Hweng Hwung of National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan.

Executive Director Ho-Chung Fu and President Masashi Kamon revealed their interests in signing a memorandum agreement and developing a cooperative relationship with National Cheng Kung University.

Accompanied by Director Mi-Ching Tsai of NCKU Research and Service Headquarters and Adjunct Prof. Shih-Chin Lee of NCKU Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Executive Director Fu exchanged views on industry-academia cooperative methods with President Hwung-Hweng Hwung.

MIRDC Executive Director Ho-Chung Fu expected to engage in a long-term cooperation on core technologies with NCKU and together promote the development of Southern Taiwan industry.

NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung believed the proposal is feasible and NCKU can offer land and research talents to fully support the development.

Hwung pointed out, “If MIRDC need assistance with its annual projects or core technologies, it can pass its inquiries to professors from related fields through NCKU Research and Service Headquarters. Thus, industry-academia cooperation can accelerate and both sides can mutually benefit in the shortest time.”

In the future, Tainan City Government and National Cheng Kung University will work together to establish University Science Park to create more cooperative opportunities for the industry, government and academia.

In addition to discussing the possibilities of cooperating with Metal Industries Research & Development Centre, NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung greeted President Masashi Kamon of Kagawa National College of Technology, Japan, and promised to sign a memorandum agreement and establish a cooperative relationship.
