Vice-President Bih-Ching Shu for Student Affairs at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, who always stresses on the spirit of caring, has expressed her farewell sentiments on January 19th and revealed the recently designed two logos.

Vice-President Bih-Ching Shu expected colleagues to play the role of small screws and offer the best care for students and she also encouraged the Office of Student Affairs to act as the trunk of NCKU banyan trees to nourish the leaves, the students.

Vice-President Bih-Ching Shu mentioned, “Acting as a small screw of the large NCKU engine, a staff from Housing Service Division, Office of Student Affairs, has dedicated himself to his work. As a role model for others, his commitment is witnessed by the Office Student Affairs and also observed by the faculty and staff at NCKU campus.”

The design concept of the first logo is based on phoenix flowers with the word “learning”, and beneath the word, there is an image of “people”, symbolizing human spirit and emphasizing the caring spirit of Office of Student Affairs.

The design concept of the second logo is based on NCKU banyan trees, in which each leaf embodies a hope, each branch symbolizes one division and the Office of Student Affairs acts as the trunk which nourishes the leaves.

Vice-President Bih-Ching Shu revealed, “The two logos are designed by a graduate student from NCKU Department of Industrial Design. I hope colleagues can understand the meanings and values behind the logos and use their advantages and strengths to support one another. A consensus reached in work is the greatest blessing to NCKU students.”

Under the leadership of Vice-President Bih-Ching Shu, NCKU Office of Student Affairs regularly organizes personnel development workshops and arranges visits, hoping to introduce new guidance knowledge, increase personnel’s work knowledge and expand their perspectives, as well as accumulate experience to jointly promote the work of student affairs.
