NCKU Delegation of Research Center for Energy Technology and Strategy Visits Belgium on July 7th

The delegation of Research Center for Energy Technology and Strategy at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, led by Director Wen-Teng Wu, visits Brussels, Belgium, on July 7th, 2010, to attend international academic conference and discuss cross-disciplinary research achievements in the field of energy, hoping to establish an intimate exchange relationship with energy technology professionals from European Union (EU).
The NCKU delegation led by Prof. Wen-Teng Wu, Director of Research Center for Energy Technology and Strategy and Dean of College of Engineering, includes Prof. Hong-Tzer Yang of Department of Electrical Engineering, Prof. Cheng-Chang Lin of Department of Transportation and Communication Management Science, Prof. Yung-Nane Yang of Department of Political Science, Prof. Mei-Jywan Syu of Department of Chemical Engineering and Research Assistant Ms. Nai-Wen Chang of Research Center for Energy Technology and Strategy.
With the steady depletion of fossil fuels, research into renewable energy, energy saving technology and energy strategy, National Cheng Kung University has established a Research Center for Energy Technology and Strategy (CETS) for organizing the faculty and resources in the energy field.
The university has also become the Energy National Contact Point Taiwan (Energy NCP) under the EU Seventh Framework Programme (FP7), forming international network, setting the fundamental operational framework and mechanism, assisting NCP Taiwan National Coordinator to support the internal professional researchers in the energy field by reinforcing the cooperation and exchanges between Taiwan and the EU, and serving as the main core and the contact window of the Energy NCP.
The NCKU delegation will attend FP7 Energy Research Information Day on July 8th and Public Private Partnerships (PPPs) Conference on July 9th in Brussels, Belgium, and meet with local public figures and experts and scholars from the field of energy technology.
