NCKU Organizes 2010 Investment Summit
Tainan, Taiwan, June 9th, 2010
The 2010 Investment Summit, organized by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), will be held on June 14th, 2010, in 62X05 Lecture Room of College of Management at National Cheng Kung University, Taiwan, inviting industrial, academic and financial experts to explore future investment and exchange their thoughts on the prospect of investment in the next half a year.
The experts will help investors to clarify the direction of investment and understand the market risk, thus achieving their expected return on investment, as well as plan a profitable and secure direction of investment of national universities’ school funds.
Vice-President Jeng-Ren Chiou for Finance expressed, “To bring the financial functions of school fund into full play, the top priority is to establish and manage an investment risk control mechanism in executing short-term capital or long-term investment planning. With regular examination of the performance of various investments as well as ratio adjustment of the asset allocation of the overall economic environment and capital investment status and strategies, we can reach the goal of increasing the expected return on investment and decreasing the investment risk.”
Prof. Jeng-Ren Chiou also mentioned, “National universities’ school funds are funds required to develop and support the school affairs of universities. To effectively use school funds and invest them to make profits, investment planning and operation need to be established under the most perfect and rigorous mechanism. Therefore, National Cheng Kung University especially organizes the 2010 Investment Summit, inviting several experts and scholars who are familiar with the overall economic and industrial trends and investment market to share their insights on the outlook of investment for the next half a year.”
The 2010 Investment Summit will be held from 10 am to 12 noon, June 14th, in 62X05 Lecture Room of College of Management at National Cheng Kung University. NCKU President Michael Ming-Chiao Lai will deliver an opening speech, and Vice-President Jeng-Ren Chiou for Finance will host the forum, where general managers and deputy managers from Cathay Securities Investment Trust, SinoPac Securities, Fuh Hwa Securities Investment Trust and PineBridge Investments and Associate Prof. Hsien-Fa Lowe from Department of Finance at Feng Chia University will engage in discussion.
The purpose of the Office of Finance at National Cheng Kung University is to make efficient use of the budget from the Ministry of Education, Taiwan, and donations from numerous outstanding alumni and kindhearted people. The Office is primarily engaged in consulting employees who are responsible for financial affairs on investment strategy and project of endowment.
