Angela Lim Sau Ting also underscored that NTU’s human resource division focuses on developing a performance-driven work culture, which is customer-centric. The effort intimately involves faculty, researchers and staff members of the university. For faculty appointment, it places significant weight on various recommendation letters. Administratively speaking, the HR division is responsible for all appointment procedures, which include departmental-level, college-level and university-level reviews. Since the corporatization of NTU initiated in 2006, all participants in this meeting showed great interest about the personnel matters and welfare. According to Angela Lim Sau Ting, the process of corporatization, which was closely coordinated with the associated labor unions, was highly successful In fact, if anything, corporatization has greatly mobilized the administration system and encourages working efficiency.
