NCKU bicycle festival and college fair attract thousands of high school students
Tainan, Taiwan, March 4, 2017
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) held bicycle festival and college fair for high school students on March 4 on Kuang-Fu Campus, with 116 booths arranged by different departments and student associations on the spot to help students have better understanding of the university as well as plan their upcoming college lives.
NCKU President Huey-Jen Jenny Su held the opening ceremony of the grand event at 9:50 in the morning, with NCKU Vice President for Student Affairs Yuk-Ying Tung, NCKU Associate VP for Academic Affairs Ju-Ming Wang, NCKU Vice President for International Affairs Yueh-Min Huang and National Tainan First Senior High School Principal Tien-Tang Chang attending.
President Su noted, “I hope the fair enables the high school students to experience the college lives and learn that their future at NCKU holds infinite possibilities. NCKU is one of the two comprehensive universities in Taiwan. With abundant of international students from 90 different countries, local students at NCKU gain plenty of opportunities to get to know different cultures and broaden their global views.”
Associate VP Wang said, “We have been holding the bicycle festival annually for 10 years. This time, we divide the fair into several parts, such as department introduction, college exhibition, interview simulation, college experience sharing, bicycle tour and so on.”
A participant expressed that he learned a lot from the camp held by the Department of Business Administration last year, and thus he decided to major in business administration.
This was his second visit to NCKU bicycle festival and college fair. He was fully engaged in the activity, saying that the fair was not only interesting but meaningful.
On the day of the event, 200 bicycles are provided for the guests to tour the campus and experience the life at NCKU.
