NCKU, Show Chwan Memorial Hospital sign collaboration agreement for medical research
Tainan, Taiwan, January 17, 2017
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) and Show Chwan Memorial Hospital signed a collaboration agreement on January 3 to deepen medical education and research cooperation and resource sharing.
The agreement was signed by NCKU President Huey-Jen Jenny Su and Show Chwan Memorial Hospital President Min-Ho Huang on behalf of their respective institutions.
Under this agreement, NCKU and Show Chwan Memorial Hospital will jointly promote the international academic exchange activities, the cultivation and appointment of professionals, distance teaching courses, on-line learning and so on.
The cooperation between NCKU and Show Chwan Memorial Hospital has escalated to another level that their partnership will strengthen the collaboration among medical institutes in Taiwan.
In her welcoming speech, President Su said that NCKU’s partnership with Show Chwan Memorial Hospital based upon frequent interactions and strong collaborations.
Also, the signing of agreement formalized the long-standing relationship between the two organizations.
President Huang responded that the connections between NCKU and Show Chwan Memorial Hospital extend back to both institutions’ earliest days.
With its college of medicine, NCKU might be the first medical research institute to reach out to cooperate with a hospital to form a regional medical system, according to President Su.
The cooperation aims for seeking to engage broad and diverse audiences and address issues of global significance.
After the signing of the cooperation agreement, the two sides will form a group of academic cooperation committee to discuss the appropriate topics to carry out researches and the direction of future development for both institutes.
