9 students complete civil aviation engineering program at NCKU

A special program on civil aviation engineering co-organized by National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, and EVA Airways Corporation (EVA Air), a Taiwan-based international airline, had its third batch of graduates this summer, the university revealed recently.
The university signed an internship agreement with EVA Air, the nation's second-largest airline, which provide NCKU students with greater insight into the industry.
A total of nine students finished the Civil Aviation Engineering Program and the 500-hour internship to get hands-on training.
Dean of the College of Engineering Prof. Woei-Shyan Lee said, the collaboration between NCKU and EVA Air is crucial and the result is promising.
EVA Air Executive Vice President Ching-Sheng Ho personally presented certificates to the nine students. He recognized students’ hard-working attitude and persistence.
He also noted, six graduates from the program had already got a job in EVA Air.
The global aviation industry talent demand is expected to reach about 200 million people over the next 20 years, according to Ho.
The Civil Aviation Engineering Program consists of 36 credits of course work including Aviation Safety Management, Basic Flight Training, Aircraft Maintenance Training, Aircraft System and Operation, Introduction to Communication and Guidance, Electrical engineering, Electronics, Electronic Circuits, Aircraft Materials, Aircraft Structures, Aircraft Engines.
