Vietnam Cultural Week kicks off at NCKU

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) 10th Anniversary Vietnam Cultural Week organized by NCKU Vietnam Students Association kicked off on May 11th.

A series of events including Vietnamese craft exhibition, Vietnamese cuisine, folk games, musical festival, and employment forum will be held from May 13th to May 14th.

Prof. Wi-Vun Taiffalo Chiung, the Department of Taiwanese Literature, who is devoted to the exchange between Taiwan and Vietnam said, “Vietnam Cultural Week has been held since the foundation of NCKU Vietnam Students Association. It is a good opportunity for students, faculties, and residents to explore Vietnam Culture. Especially these years, the government has put emphasis on the relationship between Taiwan and the Southeast Asia. We shall know more about Vietnam Culture.”

Ming-Yan Huang, the President of NCKU Vietnam Students Association, pointed out, “I want to express my gratitude to school and members of NCKU Vietnam Students Association for making the event possible. The10th Anniversary Vietnam Cultural Week will definitely be awesome. Come and you shall not regret.”

On May 13th, an exhibition displaying Vietnamese traditional craft and research on Vietnam will be held at Multi-functional Hall. Meanwhile, people could savor Vietnamese cuisine and play folk games in front of NCKU Student Activity Center. Besides, an employment forum for assisting students from Southeast Asia in their future career life will open at International Conference Hall.

The last performance of the Vietnam Cultural Week, a musical festival titled The Bridge, will take the center stage on May 14th to introduce, promote and exchange the culture amongst Vietnamese, local friends.
