NCKU team shines in 2016 International Business School Silk Road Challenge

National Cheng Kung University Executive Master of Business Administration (NCKU EMBA) representatives showed determination, receiving group and individual award in 2016 International Business School Silk Road Challenge at China in June.

Once again, NCKU demonstrated team work spirit, winning the best group award. Besides, Yi-Jing Chen won best popularity award in the women’s team and Ying Zhou Tu won the second popularity award in the men’s team, respectively.

The president of EMBA Jogging Club, Yong-Kun Lai, and the vice president, Qing-Ji Ye, finished the three-day run with flip-flops, winning the fifth and seventh place in the men’s team. People were amazed, wondering how they finished the run with flip-flops.

Zheng Ming, the President of NCKU EMBA Alumni Association said, “Our participants were much more senior than others. Perhaps we were not as energetic as the youngster, we still showed our team work spirit, winning the best group award.”

NCKU EMBA representatives seized every opportunity to introduce Taiwan and NCKU to the world during the competition.

Students have begun a series of training upon receiving the approval of participation.

A two-hour muscle endurance training is required every Saturday. They also have to complete a 12 to 35 km walk training for 4 times. There are 2 more to go before the challenge.

The 2nd 2016 International Business School Silk Road Challenge lasted from June 9th to 12th. A total of 668 students from 50 business schools including those in America, England, Singapore, and Taiwan, were invited to the challenge.

Participant were required to walk along Hexi Corridor on foot within 3 days and experienced the breathtaking view of desert, mountains, grasslands, and canyons; meanwhile, dealing with the harsh situation.

The Silk Road is at an altitude of 2500m and the total length is 7,500 km.
