2016 Crouching Tigers and Hidden Dragons Program in NCKU - Public.

Starting in 2015, the Institute of International Management (IIMBA) in National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) has joined and purposed Crouching Tigers Program as part of Taiwan Experience Education Program (TEEP), a program launched by the Ministry of Education in Taiwan to recruit students from other countries for unique cultural and professional experience in Taiwan. This year, other than Crouching Tigers Program, the Hidden Dragons Program was proposed and accepted by the Ministry of Education to join TEEP.
Crouching Tigers Program focuses on the cooperation between academia and the industry. The program intends to recruit students or recent graduates from other countries to Taiwan to join the short-term courses and to potentially have internship experience.
Crouching Tigers Program has also been introduced to industrial organizations and individual enterprises of various field including banking, business, agriculture, internet and technology, and semiconductor. It provides a great opportunity for both cooperative companies and participated students of an accessible channel to connect with each other, in order to cultivate the talented youths to serve as a connection to international markets.
There will be three sessions this year, starting from May, July, and September, and three stages in each session: recruitment, lectures and internship. IIMBA will encourage companies to challenge students by offering difficult problems or situation related to the industry while observing and evaluating students' performance. This way, it reduces the risk on selecting favorable interns and benefits both students and companies by building up more reliable relationship. Moreover, IIMBA offers field trips or tour trips in order to provide a better experience of practical business operations and unique Taiwanese culture.
Hidden Dragons Program aims at cultivating academic research ability of scholars from ASEAN Free Trade Areas, South Pacific countries and East European countries. This program will be focusing on letting young faculties realize Taiwanese Universities' advantages in research capabilities, and attract them to come to study in Taiwan, furthermore, to reach the purpose of multicultural interaction between Taiwan and South-East Asian countries.
This year, IIMBA is going to recruit 15 scholars joining our research method course and seminars including activities of symposium and interactive discussion with international master and doctoral students.
Also, IIMBA are going to invite internationally renowned journal editor to have in-depth conversation in relation to latest research topic with those scholars in order to inspire the latter to invent novel and high-quality research. During the period of this program, field trips or tour trips may be arranged to extend students' experience of business industry or Taiwanese culture.
Through Crouching Tigers and Hidden Dragons Programs, the outstanding interactions between foreign students and Taiwan Companies, as well as overseas scholars and IIMBA academic research knowledge are going to create an innovative environment for international students to broaden their knowledge of globalization and to increase their skills and abilities regarding presentation, communication, teamwork and professional competence.
IIMBA wishes these projects can bridge a lot of difficulties of talents searching and business expansion for companies and build up strong relationship between Taiwan, ASEAN, developing and developed countries.
Introduction of IMBA
Institute of International Management (IIMBA) is fairly a newly established department with the biggest scope of all-English lectures in NCKU since 2006. IIMBA aims to produce competitive business leaders given an international landscape and holistic view of the various fields of management rooted in a global perspective. Through the international management program, IIMBA provides students a highly disciplined, methodological approach to business problem solving based on an encompassing understanding of actual international business issues.
Until now, IIMBA has provided either Master's or Ph.D. degree for almost 700 students from 55 different countries (18% North America, 68% Asia, 10% Europe, 2% Africa,1% Latin and Central America and 1% from other countries). Our alumni are present in high positions in the private sector in all kinds of industries worldwide.
