UK’s Charnwood Arts CEO to give talk on ‘When Did We Become An International Festival?’ - Noodls
The Institute of Creative Industrial Design (ICID) at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, invites you to an afternoon talk on Friday, October 16, at 2pm in ICID Open Space.
The talk entitled 'When Did We Become An International Festival?' will be led by Kevin Ryan, CEO of Charnwood Arts in the UK.
He will explore the concepts of 'festival', 'international' and 'digital' to ask how our culture(s) and cultural landscapes continue to be transformed by pervasive digital technologies interacting through the medium of our own chemically coded presence in an exponentially interdependent world.
Mr. Ryan will illustrate his talk with his own images commissioned from a variety of festivals (e.g. Derby Feste and Frequency Festival of Digital Culture in Lincoln, UK) and from materials gathered from other festivals world-wide.
He will also introduce his own organization's use of digital technologies and the importance of multi-level experimentation in areas of the known as well as pushing forward with burning tip innovation in technologies and the arts.
Charnwood Arts is an independent community arts and media organisation based in the Borough of Charnwood in the East Midlands of Britain.
