On this Thursday night National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, will host a forum where its international students are able to sit down and talk about health rights, human rights, and gender equality issues in the university.

The forum organized by Office of International Affairs (OIA) will take place at Audio-Visual Center of Medical School, Cheng-Sin Campus, NCKU, starting at 6 pm, October 8.

The goal is to help international students to get deeper understanding of health rights, human rights, and gender equality issues at NCKU.

Three sections are included in the forum. Section one is “How to defend for my health?” Section two is “What are my rights at NCKU?” Section three is Gender Issues on Campus.

Assistant Professor Hao-Ven Wang from the Department of Life Sciences will talk about effective measures against dengue on campus. Personal protection and environmental management of mosquitoes are crucial in dengue fever prevention.

With Prof. Wang’s help, the international students will fill in questionnaires which help the school keep track on students’ health condition and make sure students learn the basic information about dengue fever and how to protect themselves from the disease.

Two international students will be invited to share their experience on student rights and scholarship application.
