Southeast Asia International Joint-Research and Training Program to be held at NCKU

Tainan, Taiwan, August 21, 2015

To promote sustainable protection and restoration of soil and groundwater environment, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, will host a special meeting with representatives from southeast and south Asia and Taiwan universities, starting from August 24 to 31.

An opening ceremony will be held at NCKU Library at 9:00 a.m., on August 24.

Since enforcement of the "Soil and Groundwater Pollution Remediation Act" in 2000, the researchers and practical professionals in Taiwan have accumulated many experiences in the protection and restoration of soil and groundwater environment.

With help of the SATU presidents’ forum international secretariat, Medical Device Innovation Center (MDIC) at NCKU has built the Global Academia-Industry Alliance (GAIA) which is a unique innovative business model of medical device industry.

In order to meet the demands and solve the problems coming along, MDIC and other GAIA and SATU members invite key opinion leaders, renowned professors, medical doctors, and students in Southeast Asia to attend this conference in Taiwan.

A total of seven topics will be included in the 8-day program.

They are Current and Future Directions of Soil and Groundwater Protection; Soil and Groundwater Protection- Investigation and Risk Assessment; Soil and Groundwater Protection- Restoration; Soil and Groundwater Investigation Practices; Soil and Groundwater Protection- Sustainable Remediation; Current Issues and Research Directions For Asian Countries; Current Soil and Groundwater Protection in South East and South Asia.
