Light Conference held at NCKU
Tainan, Taiwan, August 12, 2015
Light Conference- International Conference on Micro/Nano Optical Engineering (ICOME2015) is currently taking place at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, bringing together international leading experts with top scientists, young researchers, and students working in Micro/Nano optics.
The conference is organized by The Optical Society (OSA) at the Changchun Institute of Optics Fine Mechanics and Physics in Changchun, China, and this is the first time moving out of the country to seek more international collaboration.
An opening ceremony was held at August 11. NCKU President Huey-Jen Jenny Su attended the ceremony and extended her warm welcome to all the guests coming to join the event.
A total of 15 internationally well-recognized experts are invited to present their latest research findings on various aspects in Micro/Nano optics area.
“2015 is the International Year of Light,” according to President Su, “and International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies commemorates contributions to humankind.”
She pointed out that this conference is organized by journal “Light: Science and Application” (LSA). And we have long been recognized internationally for original, high-quality research, with applied research being a particular strength, according to Su.
“Professor Yen-Hsun Su’s excellent research performance is one of the important reasons that Light Science & Applications choose NCKU to be the venue for in-depth scientific discussion,” she added.
The four-day conference covers topics in small-scale optics, optical material processing, biophotonics and optics for biological and medical devices, photovoltaics and solar energy, nonlinear optics, and so on.
