NCKU initiates business internship for international students - Noodls

National Cheng Kung University Institute of International Management (NCKU IIMBA) held an opening of 2015 Crouching Tigers Workshop with a total of 22 international students from 11 countries including Poland, Italy, USA, Mexico, Indonesia, Vietnam, South of Africa, Paraguay, Gambia, Burkina Faso, and Mongolia. Starting from July 20, the workshop will run through August 16 with seminars with IIMBA faculties and executives from the enterprises, business trip, and internship interviews. Director of IIMBA Jeng-Chung Victor Chen said at the opening to the participants, we will have local business in Taiwan to come frequently interact with you, hoping that you will know better about their companies and even products. "Some companies will offer internship opportunities," Chen added. After 8-week workshop, the faculties and the enterprise will chose the top third to tenth students and offering them the internship opportunity and the enterprise will offer basic salary, according to Chen. Monika Goreczna and Jedrzej Kalinski from Poland visited Taiwan for the first time to join the workshop. Goreczna said, I studied international business in Poland and the topics of the workshop are relevant to my studies. I never been to Taiwan and I decided to come and see. Luca Lanotte from Italy said, I want to study Chinese in Taiwan and find some job opportunity here. Lanotte studied product service system design in Italy and he is interested in business. He said that he is hoping to find job opportunity after the 8-week training. IIMBA is dedicating to cultivating Taiwan's future international business employees in the emerging markets, Chen said, and work with Taiwanese international enterprise to recruit for short-term studies. He also said, after the workshop, the enterprises will pick up the suitable students to their companies for internship and find the suitable international employees for future cooperation The Taiwan Ministry of Education (MOE) fund a NT$1.96 million grant to IIMBA for the enhancement of Crouching Tigers Program. This includes a matching fund of NT$120,000 from NCKU, according to Chen. In response to the trend towards internationalism, the focus of the College of Management of NCKU is to cultivate a complete global vision through an extensive international exposure, engaging in academic affiliations and cooperation with prestigious international institutions. Students benefit from learning the real-world business and management problems as well as being granted opportunities to research, practice, and exchange knowledge with experiences of various business sectors. IIMBA was established to cater to a diverse group of international and local students wishing to pursue graduate studies in the field of business management.
