NCKU energy research center signs MoU with local companies - Noodls

The Research Center for Energy Technology and Strategy (RCETS) at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with various corporate companies, including Rida Electric Co., Energy-Saving Industry Corp., Taiwan Masahisa Machinery Co., Chien Yueh Technology Engineering Co., Be Rich Green Energy Biotech Co., Ikeuchi Taiwan Co.

The agreement was signed on May 21 to keep with the establishment of the Multi-Fuel Energy Saving Technology Industry-Academia Collaboration.

Prof. Ta-Hui Lin, the director of RCETS, said that this alliance will promote vigorous development in Taiwan's energy industry.

The NCKU RCETS spares no effort in their pursuit of developing new energy technologies and promoting energy upgrades, and plays a pivotal role in our nation's energy industry.

Inviting domestic experts and scholars in their relative fields, the team is composed of specialists in fuel pretreatment technology, burner and boiler design analysis, multiple fuel combustion characteristic diagnosis and pollution prevention technology.

Through integration of industry practice and academic research, the Multi-Fuel Energy Saving Technology Industry-Academia Collaboration aims to develop and implement energy saving technologies, in the hopes of improving environmental and sustainable development.

According to Lin, in recent years, issues such as global climate change, soaring fossil fuel prices, nuclear safety concerns and limitations of renewable energy by regional restrictions, have highlighted the importance of energy diversification and conservation.

To this end, effective utilization of biomass and waste products to generate energy has become one of the key issues of the global energy industry, as is the dispersion of our dependence on fossil fuels, and the reduction of carbon dioxide emission and other pollutants.
