NCKU Institute of Creative Industries Design to launch its international day - Noodls
National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Institute of Creative Industries Design (ICID) has been organizing ICID International Days since 2009, and this year will be the 6th edition of the event, which will be held on May 30.
The theme of 2015 ICID International Day is ‘Digital Art X Play’, consisting of talks and workshops led by Dr Tseng Yu-Chuan and Fred Ku, two established artists of interactive digital art and bio-art in Taiwan respectively.
In the past few years, to promote the ideas of multi-culturalism and glocalism, ICID has organized International Days on the themes as follows, ‘Decoding Fashion’, ‘Ciname Reborn’, ‘Sounds Meet Movement’, ‘Public Art in the Public Realm’.
Through exchanging ideas surrounding creative industries, ICID International Day aims to bring together the richness and diversity of cultures from its international students, to create the opportunities for the local students to mingle with the international students.
With the forthcoming brand new MA programme, Techno Art, at the College of Planning and Design, the 2015 ICID International invited Dr Tseng Yu-Chuan to deliver a talk, Interactive New Media Art, and to lead the workshop, Art in the Cloud.
The other artist, Fred Ku, will be sharing his thoughts on Bio Art – Transdisciplinary Practice of ‘Art and Science’, and the title of his bio-art workshop is The Future of Body Modification.
It is estimated that at least twenty international students from the Indonesia, the Philippines, Vietnam, Thailand, Columbia, Salvador and China will participate in the 2015 ICID International Day.
There will also be a group site visit to the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts in Taichung on Sunday May 31, which is organised specifically to visit some exhibitions on digital art.
