NCKU set to open exhibition of Taiwan research pioneers

A special exhibition of famed Taiwan research pioneers, academicians Chen Ci Lu(陳奇祿) and Tsao Yung-ho(曹永和) will be open at the Museum of History, National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan, on June 26.

The exhibition features the academic achievement of academician Chen Ci Lu as an outstanding anthropologist, and Tsao Yung-ho as an eminent historian.

Academician Chen Ci Lu not only is an outstanding anthropologist, but has very high attainments in arts and calligraphy. He also acted as the earliest pioneer investigating aboriginal culture.

Chen’s own handwriting that propose the inscribing personally inscribed text, calligraphy works, oil paintings, sketches of Indigenous people drawing in the research process and statements will be displayed.

Tsao Yung-ho was a Taiwanese historian known for his work on the early history of Taiwan. He is known as the preeminent Taiwanese expert on the Dutch and Spanish colonial eras in Taiwan.

The exhibition will run through December 6.
