He points out that Japan is the most popular destination for Taiwanese travelers and the experience of visiting Japan includes a deep impression of a tasteful, clean and tidy environment. This impression of Japan is ultimately related to a holistic aesthetic feeling, which is the major reason why Taiwanese feel attracted and keep going, but for the majority it is too subtle to detect.

The six elements of aesthetic are: color, tactility, proportion, construction, structure, composition. Rudimentary Aesthetics regards color, proportion, tactility as well as composition as the four major factors.
Xiao noted, regarding aesthetics, every person possesses a basic ability of appreciation. In general, just by seeing more, aesthetic acuity can be established.
The editor of Rudimentary Aesthetics focuses on the development of beauty requirements. One approach is to let the reader continuously be exposed to beautiful illustrations. Rudimentary Aesthetics thus includes a total of 900 high quality illustrations. Each illustration matches with varying word length, guiding readers in understanding various aesthetics among the different combinations of color, proportion, tactility, composition etc.
In addition, at the end of each chapter, there is a reader questionnaire, so to let the reader digest and understand the concepts and messages, as well as a referral to the upcoming ebook and additional reference information by an APP.
