NCKU international business programs open for admission until March 30 - Noodls

The allure of studying abroad is the chance to immerse oneself into the local culture while interacting with a diverse student body. There are also benefits like, increasing employability, extending business network and raising cultural awareness. Now, the master and PhD programs in the Institute of International Management (IIMBA), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), provide the opportunity and open for admission until March 30.

The program has attracted not only students from neighboring countries such as Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, but now also France, Italy, Canada and the USA, according to IIMBA Director Jeng-Chung Chen.

He said, since achieving official accreditation in 2011, the IIMBA program has continued to grow as a multifaceted, challenging, progressive program rooted in the vision of Truth and Knowledge, Integration and Innovation; Growth and Excellence.

For this Spring 2015 Batch, 25% of the new students hail from Europe and have enrolled in the two-year Masters program, he added.

"What drove them to choose NCKU, as the University to pursue their Masters degree was different for each student, but each choice was embedded in the schools national ranking and reputation as an excellent university in Taiwan," according to Chen.

Antoine Aubisse, 22, hails from Rimoges, France, graduating with an undergraduate degree in Business from E.M. Normandie Université. Aubisse first came to Taiwan two years ago on an exchange program with his University and a school in Kaohsiung.

He said he did some research before deciding on NCKU. He looked at schools in China and other parts of Taiwan and chose the IIMBA program at NCKU due to its reputation in Taiwan. "When you say you are at NCKU, people, especially Taiwanese people always say it's a really good school" he said.

Aubisse hopes to stay in Taiwan or Asia and find work that will allow him to travel, meet with clients and not be in an office all day.

Julien Cravedi, 24, is from Vignot, France and graduated with a degree in Public Law from Université de Lorraine. He also chose the IIMBA program at NCKU because of the reputation of the school. "The university ranking in Taiwan really matters and I think the degree from NCKU will be very useful, because I want to stay in Asia and find work."

He also explains how he spent a lot of time researching schools in Taiwan. He researched many options and schools across the island before finally deciding on NCKU. Cravedi aspires to use his degree to find a marketing position with a company within Taiwan or the Asian region.

Claudia Deponti, is the 2nd Italian student to attend the IIMBA program in its entire history. She is an International Relations graduate from Università Cattolica del Sacro Cuore in her hometown Milan, Italy. She is quite familiar with Taiwan, as her mother is Taiwanese and her father is Italian.

Deponti has been to Taiwan often for family celebrations with her mother's family in Jhongli. She noted that they are proud of her being accepted to such a prestigious university.

Deponti said that 'NCKU made a good impression on me during my research, and it was one of the only schools accepting students in the Spring." She stated that she was unsure as to whether she would stay in Asia to pursue work, but she looks forward to the challenging experience of completing her Master Degree here.

The international nature of the program is a direct reflection of the world we live in where information can be gathered and spread across the globe at the push of a button.

The diverse student body that makes up the program is evidence that the world is becoming smaller and easier to navigate. The International MBA provides those keys that can open doors internationally for its graduates.

As the reputation of NCKU and IIMBA Program continues to grow, the grads and alumni who are out in the workforce are a reflection, and a testament, to the value and benefit of studying abroad.
