NCKU startups to travel to America’s Silicon Valley for training

National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) has long endeavor to encourage startup projects on campus and already has a number of research teams grow into remarkable startups.

Starting from 2015, NCKU will send the most prospective teams to American’s Silicon Valley for entrepreneurship training, the university revealed.

Professor Chih-Han Chang from NCKU Research and Services Headquarters (RSH) said, NCKU-SVAA (Silicon Valley Alumni Angels) Incubation Program is the first startup training program in the university.

Currently, a total of 7 candidate teams are contending for the training opportunity, according to Chang.

He also noted that NCKU North America Alumni is going to set up Silicon Valley Alumni Angels to offer the necessary help.

Besides, the university will give a US$20,000 dollars grant to fund the winning team.

Chang also indicated that among the seven candidate teams, six teams are from the field of technology innovation and one from management.

The team will set out for three-month training to Silicon Valley by the end of January, according to the RSH.
