Indonesia’s marine ministry delegation visits NCKU - CNA

(中央社訊息服務20140926 16:25:12)An Indonesian delegation led by Dr. Suseno Sukoyono, Director General for Marine and Fisheries Human Resources Development, Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, on September 24, to explore possible collaboration and efforts to promoting sustainable fisheries.

NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung, a renowned hydraulic expert, welcomed the delegation saying, “We have very close partnership with Indonesia.”

“NCKU has signed MoU with Ministry of Education and Culture of Indonesia (DIKTI) to fund nine graduate students to the Department of Nursing at NCKU,” according to President Hwung.

Dr. Sukoyono said, “Indonesia has some advantages because of rich natural resources and NCKU has excellent human resources which we’re expecting to work with in marine affairs.”

He also noted, “We are very interested in NCKU Prof. Ming-Chung Fang’s research findings on energy-saving fishing lamp.”

“This is our first time to visit Taiwan. We expect to learn more from Taiwan during this visit and work closer with NCKU,” according to Dr. Sukoyono.

The delegation includes Dr. Sukoyono, Mr. Mulyoto, Secretary of Directorate General for Marine and Fisheries Human Resources Development, and Mr. Tatang Taufiq Hidayat, President of Jakarta Fisheries University.

Dr. Sukoyono told President Hwung that he expects more lectures by NCKU professors can be organized in Jakarta Fisheries University specifically.
