Southern Taiwan Economic and Industrial Forum held at NCKU

The Southern Taiwan Economic and Industrial Forum was held recently at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan.
NCKU alumni and distinguished guests including Tainan City mayor Ching-te Lai, and Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Chairwoman Ing-wen Tsai were invited to attend the opening ceremony on September 29.
The National Cheng Kung University Tainan Alumni Association Foundation had organized this grand event to explore the policies and strategies related to the industries in southern Taiwan, according to the university.
NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung said, holding the forum, the alumni foundation is expected to channel the talents and resources in southern Taiwan into projects involving the universities and industries in the region.
The forum serves as a platform for exchanging opinions, according to Mayor Lai who also said that the diversified and distinct resources in southern Taiwan provide great foundation for national industrial development.
NCKU has many well-known and successful alumni from all walks of life, said DPP Chairwoman Tsai who is also founder of Thinking Taiwan Foundation, an organization which aims to develop charity projects and public policy.
Having a very large community of successful alumni, NCKU is no doubt the hub of cultivating talents in Taiwan.
NCKU alumni concern about the development of our country, showing that people in southern Taiwan are willing to stand out and voice for public interest, according to Tsai.
