Heads of universities in Poland and France visit NCKU
Tainan, Taiwan, September 10, 2014
Dr. Wojciech Nowak, the rector of the Jagiellonian University (UJ), Poland, and
Dr. Gilles Roussel, the president of the Universite de Marne la Vallee (UPEMLV), France, visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, on September 3 to facilitate better understanding and more international cooperation.
A delegation of UJ led by its Rector Nowak includes Ks dr hab.Krzyszto Koscielniak, Head of the Institute of the Middle and Far East, UJ, and Prof. dr hab. Adam W. Jelonek, the Polish Ambassador to Malaysia, Brunei and the Philippines.
They visited NCKU president Hwung-Hweng Hwung at 11 am. Rector Nowak said that UJ is looking forward to further collaboration with NCKU including partnerships between collages and degree program for students from both sides.
UJ and NCKU signed a MoU in 2010 and currently the student exchange program is proceeding very well, according to NCKU Office of International Affairs.
UPEMLV President Gilles Roussel accompanied by the officers from the Ministry of Education (MOE) visited NCKU President Hwung in the afternoon.
President Roussel also expressed his willingness to further deepen the mutually beneficial cooperation and academic exchanges with NCKU in various fields
UPEMLV students have come to NCKU for Chinese learning programs since August 2013.
UPEMLV expects to cooperate with NCKU in the areas of urban planning, architecture and medicine, according to UPEMLV President Roussel.
