NCKU hosts 2014 graduate commencement ceremony
Tainan, Taiwan, June 10, 2014
The 2014 National Cheng Kung University (NCKU) Graduate Commencement Ceremony was held on June 7 honoring more than 6,043 students, including undergraduate, master and doctoral students.
Deputy Mayor of Tainan City Chun-Tso Yen and News Anchor Si-Duan Li were both invited to attend the ceremony.
In his congratulatory speech, NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung urged the graduating students to care more about what has happened around them and pay more attention to the people around them as well.
He also expected them to contribute to the society with empathy and love so that the world will be a better place for everyone.
Deputy Mayor Yen said, “Never stop learning.” He stressed the importance of learning attitude the graduating students may cultivate in the future path of career seeking.
Anchor Li who is also a famous Taiwan journalist and news producer congratulated the students and said, “Never underestimate yourself for the uniqueness in you is invaluable.”
“You will succeed in anything sooner or later,” added Li. “However I wish your success comes later for late success is always better than early success. You will realize how meaningful the modesty and appreciation are in your life.”
“I sincerely wish you a fruitful life. Cherish your life and make the most of it,” according to Li who also advise the students to share the joy of success with family and friends and spread the love to the world.
