Vietnam’s UEH visits Taiwan’s NCKU to beef up partnership
Tainan, Taiwan, April 8, 2014
A delegation from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City (UEH), Vietnam, led by Dr. Nguyen Dong Phong, President of UEH, recently visited National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, to explore the potential collaboration in business education.
NCKU President Dr. Hwung-Hweng Hwung greeted the guests from Vietnam at a meeting, March 26, and said, we are looking forward to a long-term partnership and collaboration efforts between us can be fostered in the coming future.
Dr. Cheng-Hung Huang, NCKU Vice President for International Affairs said, UEH is one of SATU representative universities for a long time and President Phong had visited us in 2008.”
President Phong talked about his experience of attending SATU meetings, saying “The meetings are very useful for us to learn about how to set up the alliance with the industry and organize online courses.”
EUH is one of the two best economics and business universities in Vietnam, and can be considered as the best one in the South of Vietnam, according to Phong.
Dr. Jen-Sue Chen, Associate Vice President of Office of International Affairs at NCKU also attended the meeting and introduced the profile of NCKU to help the guests from UEH to have a better understand about the university.
As for the mutual interests on business education, Dr. Jengchung Victor Chen, Director of Institute of International Management, and Dr.Yenn-Ru Chen, Director of International Collaboration Office, gave a brief introduction of the Institute of International Management and the Global Immersion Program as well.
President Phong asked about the curriculum in dual degree and said, we can start from setting up student exchange program and then further construct academic cooperation.
The delegation of UEH includes President Nguyen Dong Phong, Vo Ha Quang Dinh, the Head of IT department, Tran Mai Dong, Vice Head of International Relations Office, Tran Ha Minh Quan, Vice Director of Int’ Business School, Ngo Thi Anh, Head of Business Administration Faculty, Nguyen Khac Quoc Bao, Vice Dean of Financial Faculty, Hoang Thi Minh Ngoc, Head of Banking Faculty, Vo Van Nhi, Dean of Accounting and Auditing, Huynh Thi Thu Thuy, Head of Math-Statistics Faculty, and Nguyen Trieu Hoa, Head of Business Law Faculty.
