NCKU to host AIESEC Winter National Conference - CNA
2013 AIESEC (International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences) Taiwan Winter National Conference will be held at National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), southern Taiwan, Jan. 26-30, with more than 360 AIESEC members from the world.
AIESEC (International Association of Students in Economic and Commercial Sciences) is an international non-profit organization that provides students with leadership training and internship opportunities. “NCKU AIESEC is honored to host this special event,” according to the university.
An opening ceremony will take place at Cheng Kung Hall, Kuang-Fu Campus, NCKU, 9:30 a.m., Jan. 26, hosted by NCKU President Hwung-Hweng Hwung and Greater Tainan City Mayor Ching-Te Lai.
2013 AIESEC Taiwan Winter National Conference will feature the theme “LIGHT,” exhibiting the joy and beauty of local life style in Tainan City.
The conference centered at the theme, “LIGHT,” will cover 4 main issues – Tainan Memory, Transition, Travel the World , Good Life.
To host the grand international event, NCKU AIESEC, the organizer, is expecting the participants to foster leadership and experience Taiwan culture during the 5-day conference.
The conference has included 3 events, namely, Taiwan Night, Global Village and City Tour, to highlight the beauty of Tainan culture and the value of traditional industry, according to NCKU AIESEC.
In addition to introducing famous tourist attractions at Tainan City, NCKU AIESEC has designed games with local crafts, old houses, and traditional food, which will provide more opportunity for the participants to familiarize with the people, culture and the spirit of the earliest Taiwan.
For example, in Taiwan Night, the members will be invited to travel around the city with five routes, Anping Castle, Chih Kan Tower, Confucian Temple, Five-Harbor District and Tainan Flower Night Market, to take a closer look at the daily life of Tainan people.
The conference is going to promote constructive dialogue among leaders from industry, government, and students to create a better quality of life, facilitating the sustainability, according to NCKU AIESEC.
